Since the early days, the Baptist tradition have adopted common confessions of faith as the basis for union and cooperative work among churches.[1] The following is a list of confessions that have been important to the development of the Baptist theology throughout history.
17th century
- 1611 Helwys Confession
- 1644 First London Confession - revised in 1646
- 1651 The Faith and Practice of Thirty Congregations
- 1654 The True Gospel-Faith Declared According to the Scriptures
- 1656 Somerset Confession
- 1655 Midland Confession
- 1660 Standard Confession
- 1678 Orthodox Creed
- 1689 Second London Confession - originally written in 1677
- 1691 A Short Confession or a Brief Narrative of Faith

- 1900 Fulton Confession of Faith (Primitive Baptists)
