Latrodectus occidentalis is a spider in the family Theridiidae, endemic to Mexico.

Details

It is known to occur in Mexico within tropical deciduous forests in the states of Colima, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Jalisco, Morelos, Oaxaca, and Michoacan. The holotype was a female collected in Cocula, Jalisco. It is easily identified by dorsal red stripes bordered by white and a ventral red hourglass. The discovery of this species brought the Latrodectus species count for Mexico to four.[2]
