Lara Ricote is a Mexican-American comedian based in the Netherlands.[3]

Early life
Ricote is the daughter of actress Gabriela Rivero and photographer Luis Francisco Ricote.[4] She grew up in Miami[5] before moving to the Netherlands to study politics at the University of Amsterdam.[6]
Career
Ricote began performing improv and stand-up comedy while studying in Amsterdam.[6] She has performed in both English and Spanish.[5]
In 2021, Ricote won the Funny Women Stage Award.[7] At the 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, she performed her debut solo show GRL/LATNX/DEF[8] and won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer.[9]
In May 2022, Ricote featured in Rosie Jones's Disability Comedy Extravaganza,[10] a comedy special broadcast on Dave. In October the same year, she appeared on the panel shows Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable[11] and Question Team,[12] both also broadcast on Dave.
In February 2024, Ricote appeared on series U of BBC Two's QI as a guest panelist.[13] She appeared again the following year, on series V.[14]
Personal life
Ricote lives in Amsterdam.[3] She has degenerative hearing loss[3] and uses hearing aids; she has described herself as hard of hearing.[15]
