American internet personality and former adult film star From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lana Rhoades is an American internet personality, podcaster and former pornographic film actress.[2] She has appeared in publications such as Hustler, Penthouse and Playboy.[3]
Rhoades was raised by a single mother in a suburb of Chicago with an older sister who suffered from schizophrenia. According to Rhoades, most of the household's attention was devoted to caring for her sister, leaving little love or guidance for her. She came to admire the glamorous lifestyle of Playboy models such as Anna Nicole Smith who were featured on the TV series The Girls Next Door.[2]
According to Rhoades, she began using narcotics with her first boyfriend and acted as an accomplice in several burglaries. When she was 16, she was sentenced to youth detention until the age of 21 at the Warrenville Youth Center. She was released for good behavior after one year, having obtained her GED certificate. After her release, she made her first foray into legal sex work, hostessing at a Tilted Kilt restaurant and performing in a strip club.[2]
Rhoades began her professional adult film career aged 19 in 2016[4] and left the industry by late 2017.[5] Following a stint of approximately a year in pornographic films, she transitioned into a career as a social media influencer.[2] By 2019, she was the most-searched actress on Pornhub, garnering 345 million views.[2][6] In February 2020, she was hired by Brazzers as a marketing consultant.[7]
Rhoades has been open about exploitation and abuse in pornography,[5] and has discouraged other women from entering the industry.[2] She has stated that she earns hundreds of thousands of dollars per month by posting nude photos and videos to OnlyFans, which allows her to control how her body is portrayed.[2]
In 2021, Rhoades began to promote the cryptocurrency PAWGcoin,[8] and developed an NFT image project in November of that year which was launched in 2022. After the launch, she transferred out 509 ethereum (ETH) worth $1.5m, abandoning her NFT project following the $1.8m launch, according to internet investigator Coffeezilla.[9][10]
Rhoades co-hosts the podcast 3 Girls 1 Kitchen,[2][11] and designed a lingerie line with Yandy, whose parent company is Playboy.[2]
Rhoades announced on her podcast 3 Girls 1 Kitchen that she gave birth to a son in January 2022.[12] According to a 2021 Playboy profile, she owns two houses, in Los Angeles and in Chicago.[2]
