Kulsze [ˈkulʂɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Banie Mazurskie, within Gołdap County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It lies approximately 5 kilometres (3 mi) north-east of Banie Mazurskie, 16 km (10 mi) west of Gołdap, and 117 km (73 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn. It is located in the historic region of Masuria.

The origins of the village date back to 1576, when Maciej Sapała bought land to establish a village.[2] For centuries, it remained an ethnically Polish village.[2]
