Balan Aakash (born 30 June 1995), commonly known as KPY Bala or Vettukili Bala, is an Indian actor and comedian. He rose to fame after appearing on Star Vijay's Cooku with Comali.[1][2]

Personal life
Bala was born on 30th June 1995 in Karaikal, India.[3][better source needed]
Career
He received support from Amuthavaanan whilst coming to Chennai and started looking for opportunities in Vijay TV shows such as Adhu Ithu Edhu.[4]
In 2017, he competed in Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru? Season 6 and won the show, after having been eliminated and saved by Priyanka Deshpande, who advocated for him to continue on the show.[5] He was seen occasionally on Super Singer 7, providing comedic relief, this led to him being roped into a Comali for Cooku with Comali.[citation needed]
He made his film debut in Vijay Sethupathi's Junga, directed by Gokul.[6][7]

Philanthropy
KPY Bala is known for his cheerful personality and a heart full of kindness. He goes out of his way to support those in need, spreading positivity with his actions. His helping nature makes him a beloved figure among friends and fans alike. During the audio launch of Rudhran, which Bala was anchoring, Raghava Lawrence had given Bala 10 lakhs to help with his welfare fund.[8]
In 2023, Bala bought an ambulance for the hill dwellers of Kadambur near Erode. Earlier, on his birthday, he donated an ambulance to an old-age home.[9] He has donated six ambulances, and Bala has provided auto-rickshaws to support people in their daily commute, making life easier for many. This includes initiatives like gifting an auto to a woman who sold samosas, helping her improve her livelihood.
