The series revolves around a contentious, unexpected and sensational kidnap-murder case of a youthful girl named Ayla Nadeem, who is wedded to the only son of the town’s distinguished tycoon and billionaire. As the fateful tragedy strikes that one supposed romantic night, her love-arranged marriage that only could breathe for a few days, with her college sweetheart, Daniyal Mujib isn’t given a chance to prosper into a domestic saga of love.
The story tangles into the cobwebs of deceit, greed and mystery of a maze that envelopes those around Ayla. With everyone linked to the case weaving different mysteries on their own and suppressing their true natures behind well-designed facades and through and through the only question that remains is, Will the investigation authorities find their grip over the lapel of the mastermind behind all of this?
The series was first announced in May 2022, when shooting began. It was Siddiqui's fourth collaboration with Jabbar after starring in Wapsi, Vasl and Dobara Phir Se. The first teaser was released in April 2023.[4][5]
In a review of the series by The News International, the reviewer praised the series to explore the new genre but faulted it for many aspects including the half-baked story, some impactless characters, loose direction and lacking rawness and finess in art direction.[6]
While reviewing the last episodes, Galaxy Lollywood praised the Ali's performance and termed Saleem's performance as forgettable, and criticised the story regarding the narrative that was building for the conclusion.[7]
