Perspective
Early career in Travel series
Jeon, actors Park Dong-wook and Director Park Seon-hee, three alumni of Hanyang University's Theater Department left for India in February 2010 and traveled for a month. Upon returning, they were jointly planning the 'India Blog'. In June 2011, performance took place on the stage of the 80-seat Yeonwoo Theater near Hyehwa Rotary in Daehakro, Seoul, ended on the 28th. Park Seon-hee, the director, had been directing play at Yeonwoo Stage since 2011.[8][9] India Blog, which he appeared in after graduating from college, was a box office hit.
Jeon reunited with Park Dong-wook and Director Park Seon-hee in the play Turkish Blues. The play tells the story of two friends, high school student Da-hein and middle school student Seok-ho, who met as an English tutor and student in 1999. Seok-ho, a self-proclaimed 'basketball king' with an outspoken personality, and Da-hein, a perfectionist and sensitive 'study king', build memories by playing basketball together, strumming the guitar and singing, and performing on the streets of Daehakro. He then suggests that they take a trip to Turkey, saying that they can go to the beach in 'The Shawshank Redemption' and the places in 'Troy'. But even after 10 years, that promise has never been kept.[10]
Jeon reunited with Park Dong-wook and Director Park Seon-hee in the play Bulryeongseon. Director Park Seon-hee serves as co-director with Kim Byeong-ju, the artistic director of Praxis, an educational theater research institute, and a professor of educational theater at Seoul National University of Education. Bulryeongseon is a play that reflects on the life and times of 'Kim Sang-ok' (Jeon Seok-ho), a doctor who sacrificed his life for the country 90 years ago, through the character 'Kim Sang-bok' (Park Dong-wook), an ordinary 27-year-old young man living in 2013.[11]
Screen debut
In 2014, Jeon made his big screen debut in Director Noh Young-seok's film Intruders. Director Noh Young-seok revealed the secret behind the casting of Jeon Seok-ho. Director Noh Young-seok said, “I think the audience will view him with a more open mind because he is a not-so-well-known actor. When using a known actor, there seems to be a tendency to think more about the actor's image, so I looked for a new person. “I first saw Jeon Seok-ho in the play ‘India Blog’ and his acting was so natural and good that I cast him,” he said.[12] The movie is about what happens when suspicious characters, including Sang-jin (played by Jeon Seok-ho), a pretentious traveler stranded in a pension, a kind ex-convict (played by Oh Tae-kyung ), a mysterious police officer (played by Choi Moo-sung), and a suspicious hunter, become embroiled in a mysterious murder case. All main and casts Director Noh Young-seok attended press preview of the movie (produced by Stonewalk/distributed by CJ Entertainment) on February 14, at Wangsimni CGV in Haengdang-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul.[12] It was invited to the Busan International Film Festival.
At the age of 31, Jeon made his television debut in Misaeng: Incomplete Life.[13] The television series based on webtoon Misaeng by Yoon Tae-ho. It aired on tvN from October 17 to December 20, 2014, on Fridays and Saturdays at 20:30 (KST) for 20 episodes. Jeon acted as Ha Sung-joon (Ha Daeri), the boss who harasses Ahn Young-mi (played by Kang So-ra). His portrayal played a big role in increasing the immersion of viewers in watching the drama.[14]
In fall, Jeon joined The 63rd regular performance of the Yeonwoo Theater Company, Inside Himalaya. It was performed at the Yeonwoo Small Theater in Hyehwa-dong, Jongno-gu from August 14 to September 14. Revolved around stories of five men sharing their hearts while traveling together in the Himalayas. This is the third work in the travel play series presented by director Park Seon-hee and actors following 'India Blog' and 'Turkish Blues'. Kim Da-hin, Park Dong-wook, Jeon Seok-ho, Lim Seung-Beom, and Kim Hyun-Sik appeared.[15]
Good Wife.[16]
Kingdom
Jeon joined Kim Eun-hee Netflix original series Kingdom as scaredy cat Cho Beom-pal, a magistrate of Dongnae and Cho Hak-ju's nephew, a somewhat of a good nature character but incompetent.[17] Cho Beom-pal is one of the characters who achieved remarkable growth from season 1 to season 2.[18][19]
Personal life
Jeon got married in May 2016 after 10 years of dating. Jeon's wife gave birth to a daughter on the afternoon of March 8, 2018, after about two years of marriage.[20]
