Baugh attended Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia. As a junior, he rushed for 306 yards and three touchdowns, before committing to Arkansas.[1] As a senior, he rushed 113 times for 1,583 yards and 18 touchdowns, while also hauling in 28 receptions for 508 yards and 7 touchdowns, before decommiting from Arkansas.[2] After reopening his recruitment, Baugh committed to play college football at the University of Florida.[3][4]
Baugh earned immediate playing time as a true freshman. In his first career start against Kentucky, he rushed for 106 yards and a school-record five touchdowns, helping lead the Gators to a 48–20 victory.[5][6] As a result of his performance, he was named the SEC Freshman of the Week.[7]
