Iva Jovic (Serbian: Ива Јовић, romanized: Iva Jović; born December 6, 2007) is an American professional tennis player.[1] She has a career-high WTA singles ranking of No. 33 achieved on October 20, 2025 and a best doubles ranking of No. 183 reached on October 13, 2025. She has won one WTA Tour title, at the 2025 Guadalajara Open.
Jovic reached a best combined junior ranking of No. 2 on September 9, 2024. She won two junior major titles in girls' doubles, at the 2024 Australian Open and the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.

Early life
Iva Jovic was born in Torrance, California to father Bojan and mother Jelena, both Serb immigrants from Leskovac (Serbia) and Split (Croatia), respectively.[2][3] She has an older sister, Mia.[4] She resides in Los Angeles.[5][6]
Jovic began playing tennis at the age of five.[7]

Junior years
Jovic won the U14 singles event at the Orange Bowl in December 2021.[8]
She was runner-up at the inaugural International Junior Championships held at the site of the Indian Wells Open in March 2023, being defeated by Clervie Ngounoue in the final.[9]
Alongside compatriot Tyra Caterina Grant she won the doubles at the Orange Bowl in Plantation, Florida in 2022 and again in 2023 when they defeated top-seeded Czech paring of Alena Kovackova and Laura Samsonova.[10] Grant, Jovic and Alanis Hamilton played as part of the victorious American team at the 2023 Junior Billie Jean Cup, winning the tournament without dropping a set. In her singles matches, Jovic only lost 26 games in total during her 12 sets played.[11]
With Grant she won the final of the girls' doubles draw at the 2024 Australian Open. The pair did not drop a set in the tournament.[12] The pair also reached the final of the girls' doubles at the 2024 French Open.[13] Jovic and Grant won the girls' doubles title at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.[14] She reached the semi finals of the girls' singles at the 2024 US Open.[15]
2022–2023: Professional debut, first title
In June 2022, Jovic made her professional debut as a wildcard at the 15k SoCal Pro Circuit Jack Kramer Club event in Los Angeles,[16] where she reached the final.[17] In October 2023, she won her first title at the 25k Ascension Project Women's Open in Redding.[18]
2024: Major debut and first win
She made her debut at the US Open, after receiving a wildcard for the main-draw in singles and doubles, after a victory in the USTA's U18 National Championships, making her the youngest participant at the tournament.[19][20][21] Jovic recorded her first major and WTA Tour win over Magda Linette,[22] becoming the youngest American to win a women’s main-draw match at the US Open since 2000.[23][24][25] She lost in the second round to 29th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in three sets.[26]
2025: First WTA Tour title, top 40

Jovic entered the main draw at the Australian Open for the first time after winning the USTA’s Wild Card Challenge, and defeated Nuria Parrizas Diaz in the first round.[27][28] She lost her next match to sixth seed Elena Rybakina.[29]
At Indian Wells, Jovic reached the second round on her WTA 1000 debut as a wildcard entrant, defeating Julia Grabher in three sets.[30][31] In the second round, she lost to sixth seed Jasmine Paolini, in three sets.[32]
Jovic gained a wildcard entry into the French Open by winning the USTA's Roland Garros Wild Card Challenge.[33] She defeated Renata Zarazúa in the first round,[34] before losing to 12th seed Elena Rybakina for the second successive major.[35]
In June, she won her first WTA 125 title at the Ilkley Open, defeating Rebecca Marino in the final.[36][37] Following this success, Jovic achieved another milestone by making her top 100 debut on June 16, 2025.[38] Later that month she qualified to make her main-draw debut at Wimbledon,[39] where she lost to Suzan Lamens in the first round.[40]
In August, Jovic entered the main-draw at the Cincinnati Open and defeated fellow lucky loser Solana Sierra and 20th seed Linda Nosková to reach the third round at a WTA Tour event for the first time in her career.[41] Her run was ended by Barbora Krejčíková.[42] Later that month at Tennis in the Land, she overcame fourth seed Anastasia Potapova,[43] before losing to Ann Li in the second round.[44] At the US Open, Jovic defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round,[45] but lost her next match to Jasmine Paolini.[46]
The following month at the WTA 500 Guadalajara Open, Jovic won her first WTA Tour title, saving a match point in the quarterfinal match against Andorran player Victoria Jiménez Kasintseva, and defeating Colombian player Emiliana Arango in the final.[47] As a result, she entered the top 40 at world No. 36 on 15 September 2025.[48]
