District in Balochistan, Pakistan From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hub District (Balochi, Lasi, Urdu: ضِلع حَب), is a coastal administrative district and located at southern part of Balochistan Province of Pakistan.[2] The district was created after bifurcation of Lasbela District in 2022.[2][3]

It is located in the south of the Balochistan province, Hub district is bordered by Arabian sea to its south, Lasbela district to its west, Karachi division to its south east, Dadu district to its north east, Jamshoro district to its east, Khuzdar to its north and north west.
Its Provincial Assembly seat is PB-21 and National Assembly seat is NA-257 shared with district Awaran & district Lasbela.
Sardar Muhammad Saleh Bhootani confirmed that the creation of Hub District is a long-standing demand of his people of PB-49 constituency.[2]
Member, National Assembly of Pakistan (MNA) Mohammad Aslam Bhutani has thanked Chief Minister Bizenjo for approving the creation of this district.[2]
The district of Hub is administratively divided in five tehsils.

At the time of the 2017 census, Hub district had 49,449 households and a population of 339,640. Hub had a sex ratio of 913 females per 1000 males and a literacy rate of 35.90% - 45.37% for males and 25.49% for females. 227,872 (67.09%) lived in urban areas. 105,437 (31.04%) were under 10 years of age.[1]
At the time of the 2017 census, 58.31% of the population spoke Balochi, 18.51% Sindhi, 15.80% Brahui, 4.08% Pashto and 1.22% Saraiki as their first language.
