Herbert Jones (priest)

Herbert Arthur Jones was Dean of Manchester in the third quarter of the 20th century.^[1]

Born in 1882, the son of a joiner and carpenter, he was educated at Birmingham University. He was ordained in 1917 and began his career with curacies at St Paul's Church, Balsall Heath^[2] and St Agatha's Church, Sparkbrook.^[3] He was then Vicar of All Saints' Small Heath^[4] after that Provost of Leicester Cathedral^[5] before entering the Deanery.^[6] He died on 17 February 1969.^[7]
