Henry James Moodie (born 7 April 2004)[1] is a British pop singer-songwriter who became successful on TikTok starting in 2022.[2]
Henry James Moodie was born on 7 April 2004. He began making music at the age of 11. At 14, he attended songwriter sessions in London on weekends. Moodie left school at 16 to spend some time playing in a band and taking a songwriting course in Fulham.[3] Before releasing his own songs, he initially posted cover songs on TikTok and other internet platforms.[4][5]
Later, he performed as a support act on The Vamps' arena tour and at concerts by Mimi Webb. His first single, "You Were There for Me", reached the charts in several countries in 2022, including the Swiss Hitparade.[6] This and other songs of his also appeared in the British charts. In 2023, Moodie was named one of Amazon Music's "Artists to Watch 2023."[7] In 2023, he went on his first solo tour.[1] In February 2024, the Lonely Nights Tour started, consisting of 18 concerts in Europe and the UK. In 2024 his song "drunk text" was number one for four weeks in the charts of Malaysia according to the Recording Industry Association of Malaysia.[8]
In September 2024, he released his EP Good Old Days.
Henry Moodie has a sister. His mother is a therapist who taught him how to channel his emotions.[9] All his songs are inspired by the same ex-girlfriend who he ended a relationship with and never got closure. He is also a Taylor Swift fan.
