He competed for Russia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in the cross-country skiing events.[3]
In December 2016, the International Ski Federation (FIS) provisionally suspended six Russian cross-country skiers linked to doping violations during the 2014 Winter Olympics, including Evgeniy Belov.[4] On 1 November 2017, Belov became one of two Russian athletes, the other being Alexander Legkov, sanctioned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). He was officially disqualified from the 2014 Winter Olympics.[5]
