Emma Friis

Emma Cecilie Uhrskov Friis (born 31 October 1999)[1] is a Danish handball player for CSM București and the Danish national team.[2][3]

She made her debut on the Danish national team on 29 September 2018, against Norway.[4]

In September 2018, she was included by EHF in a list of the twenty best young handballers to watch for the future.[5]

She represented Denmark at the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship in Spain[6] and at the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship at home.

Career

Friis started playing Handball at Herning FH, before joining SINE SønderjyskE.[7] In 2016 she joined FC Midjylland Håndbold's youth team. She made her senior debut for the team in 2016 in the Danish Cup semifinal against Viborg HK. She continued in the club after the name change to Herning-Ikast Håndbold until 2022.[8] With the club she won the Danish Cup in 2019.[9] She joined Ikast Håndbold in 2022, where she won the EHF European League beting fellow Danish team Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub in the final, where she was the top scorer of the final with 11 goals.[10]

In the summer of 2023 she joined Romanian side CSM Bucharest.[11]

She debuted for the Danish national team in September 2018.
