Dutch America
Region that combines all dutch speaking territories in America From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dutch America [1][2] (in Dutch: Nederlands Amerika), is the combination of territories, countries or even communities that are dutch speaking in the Americas, in contrast to Anglo-America, Hispanic America, French America and Portuguese America.
Dutch speaking territories in America
This includes countries, territories and communities, which are:
- Suriname (thanks to the Dutch colonisation of the Guianas).[3]
- In the northeastern region of Brazil, which is inhabited by some dutch communities. (thanks to the old colony of Dutch Brazil, sumed up by the Dutch inmigration to Brazil).[4]
- The Dutch Antilles which are now divided in the countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Aruba, Sint Maarten and Curaçao).[5]
