A youth product of the Brazilian club Juventude, Callai moved to the youth academy of Sporting CP in 2015. On 23 July 2020, he signed his first professional contract with Sporting and was promoted to Sporting CP B in 2021.[1] In the summer of 2021, he joined the senior team during preseason and was promoted as their third goalkeeper.[2] On 22 April 2022, he extended his contract with Sporting CP until 2027.[3] On 11 January 2024, he joined Feirense on loan in the Liga Portugal 2.[4] Em Maio de 2024 sagrou-se campeão nacional pelo Sporting Clube de Portugal.
Callai is the son of the Brazilian former goalkeeper Diego Costa Silva.[4] He holds Brazilian, Italian and Portuguese nationalities.[5]
