The New York Giants selected Banks in the first round (24th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was the fourth cornerback drafted in 2023.[8]

On May 18, 2023, the New York Giants signed Banks to a four-year, $13.59 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $6.87 million and is fully guaranteed upon signing.[9] Banks settled for #25 since he was unable to select his college number #3 since it was already being worn by veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard.[10] He recorded his first interception in a Week 7 against Sam Howell of the Washington Commanders in a 14–7 win.[11] His second came against Mac Jones in a Week 13, 10–7 victory over the New England Patriots.[12] In his rookie season, Banks finished with 64 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 passes defended in 15 games.[13]

In an Instagram post on February 9, Banks posted a picture of him wearing number 3, signifying that he will be changing his number. He wore #3 in college and was able to select it after Sterling Shepard left during free agency.[14]
