Dean of Winchester

Not to be confused with Dean Winchester.

The Dean of Winchester is the head of the Chapter of Winchester Cathedral in the city of Winchester, England, in the Diocese of Winchester.^[1] Appointment is by the Crown.^[2] The first incumbent was the last Prior, William Kingsmill,^[3] Catherine Ogle was installed in February 2017.^[4] Ogle stepped down in March 2025, and the vice-dean of the cathedral, The Reverend Canon Dr Roland Riem, was appointed interim dean of Winchester Cathedral.^[5]
