David Taylor (born 25 August 1965) is a retired Welsh footballer and current manager. A former forward, he achieved the feat of scoring the most goals in European football leagues during the 1993–94 season with Porthmadog (he received a golden boot trophy from sponsors Adidas, though it is not counted in the official European Golden Shoe listings due to the award being suspended by organisers at the time).[1]

After he retired from football, Taylor established a career in insurance as a senior claims advisor for Towergate Insurance. In 2023, he retired and now spends his time following his beloved Bolton Wanderers. He also does a lot for his local community in Bolton and is regularly found playing the role of Father Christmas during the festive period.
