In January 2025 Connolly was included in Australia's Test squad to tour Sri Lanka.[15] Before the second Test in Australia's tour of Sri Lanka in January 2025, Connolly received his Test Cap (nicknamed 'Baggy Green') from former Test allrounder Simon Katich, who is another Western Australian, and became the 471st Australian to play tests for Australia.[16]

Playing style

Connolly has stated that he models himself after former Australian batsman and fellow Western Australian Shaun Marsh.[17][18]
