District in East Azerbaijan province, Iran From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Central District of Ahar County (Persian: بخش مرکزی شهرستان اهر)[3] is in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Ahar.[4]
After the 2016 National Census, Qeshlaq Rural District was separated from the district in the formation of Fandoqlu District.[5]
At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 125,253 in 29,323 households.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 129,022 people in 34,244 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 133,829 inhabitants living in 40,048 households.[2]
