Cedric Javon Cormier (born April 2, 1979) is an American college football coach and former wide receiver. He is the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at New Mexico State University, a position he has held since 2024. Cormier played college football at University of Colorado-Boulder.[1]

Cormier was born in Houston, Texas. He attended North Shore High School and graduated at University of Colorado-Boulder with a bachelor's degree in Communications in 2002.[2]
Cormier played high school at North Shore where he earned Houston Touchdown Club offensive and was listed Houston chronicle most valuable player in 1996.[3] In 2001, he played wide receiver at Colorado and was a member of Big XII Championship team.[4] As a senior, he caught 52 passes for 529 yards and one touchdown for the Colorado Buffaloes.[5][6]
Early years
Cedric Cormier started his coaching career in 2004 as wide receivers assistant coach at Channelview High School in Houston, where he coached Chicago Bear wide receiver Johnny Knox. Cormier coached next at Baytown Lee for two seasons as the special team's coordinator before moving to University of Montana in 2007.
University of Montana
In 2007, Montana named Cormier its wide receivers coach.[7][8][6]
Miami
In 2009, Cormier was announced as the assistant wide receivers coach at Miami University by head coach Mike Haywood.[9]
University Nevada Las Vegas
Cormier was hired by University Nevada Las Vegas in 2010 as their assistant coach, wide receivers coach, pro liaisons and camp director.[10][11][12][13][14][15]
Houston Christian University
In 2020, Cormier was promoted to offensive coordinator[16] by head coach, Vic Shealy of HBU taking over for Zack Kittley who accepted the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks position at Western Kentucky.[17][18][19]
Ball State University
In 2023, Cormier was hired as wide receivers coach at Ball State University replacing Marcus Knight. During his tenure he coached seven players that signed with NFL.[20][21]
New Mexico State University
2024
Following one year coaching at Ball State University, Cormier reunited with head coach Tony Sanchez after joining Aggies and currently serves as passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach.[22][23][24][25]
Cormier and his wife Dr. Alicia Booker Cormier have two kids a son Deon and daughter Danielle. Cedric parents are Freddy and Margie Cormier.
