Manuel has been a supporter of Portuguese side Porto. He is a native of Sesimbra, Portugal.[1]
Manuel started his career with Portuguese side Vitória de Setúbal. In 1998, he signed for Portuguese side Porto.[citation needed] In 1999, he returned to Portuguese side Vitória de Setúbal on loan.[citation needed] In 2001, he was sent on loan to Portuguese side Leça.[citation needed] After that, he signed for Portuguese side Oriental.[citation needed] In 2002, he signed for Portuguese side Sporting da Covilhã.[citation needed] In 2003, he signed for Portuguese side Amora.[citation needed] In 2004, he signed for Portuguese side Sesimbra.[2]
Manuel operated as a midfielder. He mainly operated as an attacking midfielder.[3]
Manuel has been married. After retiring from professional football, he worked as a civil servant.[4]
