Caracena is a municipality located in the province of Soria, in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain.

The village has suffered from depopulation, but has two Romanesque churches, St Mary's and St Peter's. From the point of view of the Catholic Church, it is part of the Diocese of Osma-Soria, which in turn is part of the Archdiocese of Burgos.

The village is located on the "wool route" Ruta de la Lana, a variant of the Camino de Santiago between Alicante and Burgos. Road access is via the local road SO-V-1601 which connects La Rasa with Valderromán. This road connects the Spanish provinces of Soria and Segovia due to the connection between the local road and the SO-135 that starts in Ayllón.
