Cameron Alborzian (Persian:کامران البرزیان) (born 26 February 1967) is an Iranian supermodel and holistic health practitioner. After achieving prominence on the catwalk, he transitioned to a career in holistic healing, specializing in Ayurveda, yoga, and ancient wellness systems.

Alborzian first gained international recognition in the late 1980s and early 1990s as the first male supermodel. He collaborated with some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses, including; Guess,[1] Levi's, Versace, Christian Dior, Valentino, Chanel, Gucci,[2] Jean Paul Gaultier,[3] Dolce & Gabbana,[4] Karl Lagerfeld, House of Montana, John Galliano or Yves Saint Laurent,Vivienne Westwood , Louis Vuitton ,Tom Ford , Ralph Lauren , Bijan , Georgio Armani and many other designers

Yogi Cameron went on to author four books on the topics of yoga, Ayurveda, and holistic wellness, including The Yogi Code, The Guru In You, The One Plan, and Transform Your Health.

Early life

Alborzian was born in Tehran, Iran to an English mother and Iranian father.[5][6] He grew up in the United Kingdom.

His modeling career began after a scout on the street spotted him on the streets of London. Several weeks later, he appeared in a Jean Paul Gaultier show in Paris to start off his career.[7]

Modeling

While his modeling career defined his rise to fame, his work earned him a great deal of attention, including that of Madonna, Alborzian played her love interest in the music video for her song Express Yourself.[8][9] He also appeared in the 1997 music video for Elton John's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight", also starring Kate Moss.[10]

Along with Gaultier, he worked for other designers such as Dior and YSL. He did not achieve wider fame for his work until he landed a contract with Guess jeans in 1988.[11]

In 1998, he joined fellow models Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Kate Moss in visiting Nelson Mandela in South Africa for a charity event to benefit the Mandela Fund.[8]

In 2005, he left modeling to pursue the spiritual path and became known as Yogi Cameron.

After the death of his close friend and mentor in naturopathy,[12] Alborzian attended the Integral Yoga and Yogaville teacher training in New York.[13] as well as a reflexology masters course at the Open Center in New York City. He continued his studies at Arsha Yoga Vidya Peetam Trust in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India in 2003. At Arsha, he studies Ayurveda and yoga under Sri V. Vasudevan, who studied in the lineage of Brahmasri Poomulli Neelakantan Namboothiripad, Brahmasri Cherukalakapurath Krishnan Namboothiri, and Yogi Narayanji Maharaj.[14]

Yogi Cameron is the author of four books: Ahora es el Momento, The Guru in You,[15] The One Plan, and The Yogi Code.
