After serving for two years as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints[6] in New Zealand and the Cook Islands[7][8] Timu returned to the Broncos.[9] He played for the Souths Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup and for the Broncos in the 2016 NRL Auckland Nines.
