In August 2013, Ram Charan enquired about the film's plot after it was reported to be similar to the yet-to-be-released Yevadu.[2] A platinum disc function was held on 12 December 2013.[3]
A critic from The Times of India wrote that "Save a couple of songs and some funny moments the movie just has too many bloopers".[4] A critic from 123telugu wrote that "Overall, Bunny n Cherry is a film with a unique (though quite unrealistic) storyline. However, bad writing and poor execution kill the film".[5] A critic from Full Hyderabad wrote that "Bunny N Cherry is one of those films that make you say aloud "Did the cast and crew see the movie at least once before it released? What did they think of it?" You might end up saying this over and over again".[6]
