Brockville Memorial Civic Centre

The Brockville Memorial Civic Centre is an indoor arena in Brockville, Ontario.^[1] It is home to the Brockville Braves of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) and the Brockville Tikis of the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL). It has a seating capacity of 1,800 for hockey games.^[2]

Opened in 1981, the Brockville Memorial Civic Centre consists of a 52,000 sq ft building comprising an arena with a seating capacity of 1,800 and a 350-seat community hall complete with its own independent kitchen facilities.

Arena usage

The arena opened on October 19, 1981. It is one of the two ice hockey arenas in Brockville, along with the Centennial Youth Arena, located in the city's east end. The Memorial Civic Centre also features an outdoor park (named the Memorial Park Athletic Fields), which holds a baseball and soccer field.^[3] The arena serves as the home of the Brockville Braves Junior A hockey team and the Brockville Tikis Junior B hockey team. The ice surface is in operation from September until April of each year.^[4]

During the summer months, the ice pad is used by community groups for such activities as trade fairs, multicultural fairs, dog shows, and more. The community hall, consisting of stage, kitchen and bar facilities can accommodate banquets and receptions as well as other recreational programming.^[5] The Brockville Memorial Civic Centre hosts over 60 events per year and has drawn over 1 million visitors since its opening. It is the third busiest arena in the CCHL after the Pembroke Memorial Centre and the Cornwall Civic Complex, with over 20,000 people attending Braves games every season.
