Games
In January 2025, Bonfire Studios revealed its first game, Arkheron, after eight years of development. The live-service game focuses on player versus player combat with a top-down view, and it was built using the Unity game engine.[2] Alongside the game's announcement, Bonfire Studios began private playtesting.[3]
Prior to the game's announcement, studio head Rob Pardo described the game as a PC-focused release designed by letting staff brainstorm 40 original ideas, choosing the seven likeliest to succeed, and then voting on which of the fuller pitches to work on.[4][5]
Team
Rob Pardo (former Chief Creative Officer of Blizzard Entertainment and lead designer of World of Warcraft),[1] Min Kim (former CEO of Nexon America),[6] Josh Mosqueira (game designer of Homeworld 2,[7] Company of Heroes,[8] Far Cry 3,[9] and Diablo III),[10] Sigurlína Ingvarsdóttir (producer of Eve Online and Star Wars: Battlefront),[11] and Morgan Webb (games journalist at Xplay) formed Bonfire Studios in 2016.[12] As of January 2025, the studio had 70 employees, composed of 52 developers and 18 artists.[2]
