Bolsheboldinsky District (Russian: Большебо́лдинский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the forty in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Bolsheboldinsky Municipal District.[3] It is located in the southeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 866.5 square kilometers (334.6 sq mi).[1] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Bolshoye Boldino.[1] Population: 12,035 (2010 Census);[2] 13,035 (2002 Census);[5] 14,156 (1989 Soviet census).[6] The population of Bolshoye Boldino accounts for 42.2% of the district's total population.[2]
