A sneak preview was released on January 16, 2012, in tribute to Betty White's 90th birthday.[1] The show officially premiered April 4, 2012.[2][3] White hosts the series, and also serves as an executive producer for the show.

The elderly play pranks on members of the younger generation, in the manner of Candid Camera, Trigger Happy TV, or Punk'd. It is based on the Belgian television format Benidorm Bastards.
