Bekovsky District

Bekovsky District (Russian: Бе́ковский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Penza Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,016 square kilometers (392 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Bekovo.[1] As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 17,531, with the population of Bekovo accounting for 39.6% of that number.[3]
