Career

Ashwath Marimuthu made his directorial debut with the Tamil film Oh My Kadavule in 2020.^[3] Starring Ashok Selvan and Rithika Singh, the film was praised for its fresh and innovative storyline.^[4] Following its success, Ashwath remade the film in Telugu as Ori Devuda.^[5]

In 2024, he announced his next film, Dragon, with director-actor Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role.^[6] Ashwath and Pradeep share a close friendship that spans over a decade.^[3] Released in 2025, Dragon received widespread critical acclaim and emerged as the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year.
