Perspective

Dawson Daugherty, Cole Clisby, and Luke Fabry met while in high school in San Diego's North County area.[1] Fabry and Daugherty grew up together and were longtime friends, and Daugherty met Clisby through surfing.[2][3] Daughtery and Fabry attended Point Loma Nazarene University, and Clisby went to the University of California, San Diego.[4] They initially wanted to call their band The Mondays, but the name was taken; they decided on Almost Monday as an alternative.[5][6]

Their first single, "Broken People", was released on April 22, 2019.[7] It reached number 27 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay charts.[6] On May 29, 2020, the band released the single "Come On Come On".[8] Their debut EP, Don't Say You're Ordinary, was recorded in San Diego, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, and released on Hollywood Records on October 9, 2020.[1][9] The EP was produced by Mark Needham and Simon Oscroft, and mixed by Mark Needham.[3] On January 26, 2021, they released the single "Live Forever".[10] On April 8, 2022, they released the single "Sunburn" and on June 3, 2022, they released the single "Sun Keeps on Shining."[11] In 2022, they toured with Joywave and The Driver Era.[11] They released the single "Cough Drops" on October 5, 2022. On February 24, 2023, they released the single "Only Wanna Dance" after finishing their North American tour.[12] In the summer of 2024, Almost Monday opened for AJR on AJR's tour in support of their 2023 album The Maybe Man.[13]

The band's debut studio album, Dive, was released on Hollywood Records on September 25, 2024.[14] A deluxe version of Dive, with three additional tracks, was released on January 21, 2025.[15] In support of the album, the band embarked on The Dive Tour, beginning in Seoul, South Korea, on November 14, 2024, before moving through Asia and then to the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe in 2025.[16]

The lead single from Dive, "Can't Slow Down", reached number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart for February 1, 2025. The song also reached number 11 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart, and number 32 on Adult Pop Airplay.[17]
