Adinam began his career at União São João, where he was champion of Série B in 1996 season. On 15 February 1997, during Campeonato Paulista, ended up making history by conceding Rogério Ceni first goal. On 11 September, he was the goalkeeper in the 6–0 defeat suffered by União São João against CR Vasco da Gama, where Edmundo scored the 6 goals of the match, with Adinam defending a penalty taken by him.[1]
