The 2025 New York Mets season will be the franchise's 64th season in Major League Baseball, their 17th at Citi Field, and their fifth under majority owner Steve Cohen.

The team intends to retire the number 5 worn by former Mets captain and third baseman David Wright and induct him into the Mets Hall of Fame during a pre-game ceremony before the team takes on the Cincinnati Reds at Citi Field on July 19. Wright will become the 10th person to have his number retired by the Mets and the second, along with Tom Seaver, to enter the team's Hall of Fame on the same day.^[1]

2024

• October 31 – signed right-handed relief pitcher Dylan Covey to a one-year contract.^[2]
• November 4 – claimed right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Herget off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.^[3]
• November 4 – claimed infielder Luis De Los Santos off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.^[4]
• November 18 – signed right-handed pitcher Justin Hagenman to a one-year contract.^[5]
• November 19 – acquired outfielder Jose Siri from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for right-handed pitcher Eric Orze.^[6]
• November 22 – re-signed right-handed relief pitcher Sean Reid-Foley to a one-year contract avoiding arbitration.^[7]
• December 4 – signed right-handed starting pitcher Frankie Montas to a two-year, $34 million contract including an opt-out after the 2025 season.^[8]
• December 9 – signed right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes to a three-year, $38 million contract including an opt-out after the 2026 season.^[9]
• December 11 – signed superstar outfielder Juan Soto to a 15-year, $765 million contract, the largest contract in professional sports history. The deal includes an opt-out after the 2029 season and no deferred money. The Mets can void it by increasing his annual salary in the final 10 seasons by $4 million from $51 to $55 million, making the total value up to $805 million. In addition, Soto will also get a $75 million signing bonus in the contract.^[10][11]
• December 16 – signed utility player Jared Young to a one-year contract.^[12]
• December 19 – signed right-handed starting pitcher Griffin Canning to a one-year, $4.25 million contract.^[13]
• December 27 – re-signed left-handed starting pitcher Sean Manaea to a three-year, $75 million contract.^[14]

2025

• January 15 – claimed right-handed relief pitcher Austin Warren off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.^[15]
• January 17 – re-signed outfielder Jesse Winker to a one-year, $7.5 million contract.^[16] The Mets also signed left-handed relief pitcher A. J. Minter to a two-year, $22 million contract including an opt-out after the 2025 season.^[17]
• January 29 – re-signed right-handed relief pitcher Ryne Stanek to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.^[18]
