The 2025 NHL entry draft will be the 63rd NHL entry draft. The draft is expected to be held in the summer of 2025 and will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.[1]

Ice hockey players born between January 1, 2005, and September 15, 2007, are eligible for selection in the 2025 NHL entry draft. Additionally, undrafted non-North American players born in 2004 (who had not previously played a complete draft season in North America) are eligible for the draft; and those players who were drafted in the 2023 NHL entry draft, but not signed by an NHL team and who were born after June 30, 2005, are also eligible to re-enter the draft.[2]
As of the start of the 2024–25 season[update], forward James Hagens is the favourite to go first overall. Other top forward prospects include Porter Martone, Roger McQueen, Michael Misa, Ivan Ryabkin, and Anton Frondell. The top ranked defender is Matthew Schaefer.[3][4][5][6]
Joshua Ravensbergen is the only draft-eligible goaltender featured in the "A" tier of NHL Central Scouting's preliminary watchlist.[7]
The order of the 2025 entry draft will be finalized upon the conclusion of the 2024–25 NHL season. However, some teams have already exchanged picks for this draft via trade. These picks are listed below.
