2-Methyl-1-pentanol

2-Methyl-1-pentanol (IUPAC name: 2-methylpentan-1-ol) is an organic chemical compound. It is used as a solvent and an intermediate in the manufacture of other chemicals.[2] Due to its low solubility in water it has recently been suggested as a solvent in liquid–liquid extraction of ethanol from fermented feedstocks.[3]
