The 1992 season in Swedish football, starting January 1992 and ending December 1992:
The 1991 and 1992 seasons of the Swedish national leagues were played using a very unusual and complicated system involving separate leagues for spring and autumn, where teams playing at different levels during the spring could be playing in the same league during the autumn. It was even possible for a team playing in the third level (Division 2) at the start of the season to gain promotion to the first level (Allsvenskan) for the start of the next season. The footnotes linked at top of each league table and play-off round gives a full explanation of the promotion and relegation rules for the league or play-off in question.

The lists of promotions, league transfers and relegations only includes teams whose status changed between the start of the 1992 season and the start of the 1993 season. Thus for example Västra Frölunda IF are not listed as having been promoted from Kvalsvenskan to Allsvenskan, as the team started the season playing in Allsvenskan. Any team which in a league table is being colour-coded as promoted, transferred or relegated, but not listed here, did not change status between the start of the two seasons.
Team 1 advances to Kvalsvenskan, team 2 to 7 advances to Höstettan, and team 8 advances to Kvalettan.
The teams brought half the points collected in Allsvenskan to Mästerskapsserien. In case of an odd number of points collected, the resulting half point was rounded up.
Winners of Allsvenskan qualification play-off 2nd round plays in Allsvenskan the next season, losers of 2nd round plays in Division 1 the next season. The purpose of the 1st round was to seed the four winners of the Höstettan leagues.
Team 1 in Höstettan advances to Allsvenskan qualification play-off 1st round, team 2 to 6 plays in Division 1 the next season, and team 7 to 8 plays in Division 2 the next season.
Winners of Division 1 promotion play-off 2nd round plays in Division 1 the next season, losers of 1st and 2nd round plays in Division 2 the next season.
Team 1 in Kvalettan plays in Division 1 the next season, team 2 advances to Division 1 promotion play-off 1st round, and team 3 to 6 plays in Division 2 the next season.
