Colonel (Retired) Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar (born 23 April 1956) is a Bruneian nobleman and politician who previously held the positions of Minister of Energy from 2010 to 2018 and Deputy Minister of Defence from 2005 to 2010.[1]
In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Umar is a patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name, Mohammad Yasmin. The word "bin" or "binti"/"binte" means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
