Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat was abolished. Subject to boundary changes, which entailing the loss of the two Dearne wards, and offset by the addition of the City of Doncaster wards of Conisbrough, and Edlington and Warmsworth it will be reformed as Rawmarsh and Conisbrough, to be first contested at the 2024 general election.[2]
