General Vicente Álvarez y Solís (Spanish: [ˈbiˈsente ˈalβaɾes] : April 5, 1862 – November 22, 1942) was a Zamboangueño revolutionary general who led the revolution in Zamboanga which forced the surrender of the last Spanish Governor-General of the Philippines, Diego de los Rios, effectively ending the Spanish occupation in the Philippines.[1]
