Welcome message
Hi there. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and stick around. If you like, you can leave a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.
Before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives a lot of basic information to help you to get oriented on Wikipedia.
You can sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp. If you have any other questions about the project, then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Help desk. You can also drop me a question on my talk page.

- Thank you very much for your friendly welcome :). I have read the tutorial and found it very useful. I appreciate your hints on getting help, I might need it :). Yuser31415 00:46, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- You're very welcome.
This may be a newbie question but how is it possible to add a template to a page?
TIA :) Yuser31415 04:26, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- Please don't worry about asking newbie questions. Whether I'll actually be able to help or not is another matter, but I know that there are various levels of complexity to Wikipedia, and if you want to get the most out of it, you will find yourself on a fairly steep learning curve.
- I'm not sure if you mean an existing template, which is easy (edit a page which already has it, copy the code, paste where required) or that you want to make a template from scratch, which isn't something I've ever got round to doing, but the instructions are at Wikipedia:Template namespace. If you want further help, can you specify what kind of template you want to add?

- Never mind, I just took a look at your contributions, and I think I see your problem. You must include (forgive the technical terminology here) squiggly brackets with the template code. Try this.
{{Template:Sign1}}- If you edit this page now, you'll see the code I've used to stop this from working here, without which, the code with the squiggly brackets produces....
Please sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) when making your posts on talk pages.
- Cool. I'm gonna start using that template....

- Thanks for your help, it is very much appreciated :). If I need any help I'll know who to ask.

- Again, you're very welcome. One thing though... please leave messages for me on my talk page, because I won't otherwise have a reason to come back here to check for them. Cheers. TheMadBaron 08:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
