Doing It Right (DIR) is a holistic approach to scuba diving, which is comprised of three core components; a unified team, preparation, and a standardized equipment configuration [1]. The DIR system is intended to increase diver safety, reduce diver stress, and enhance a diver’s fun through a simple robust diving system (Jablonski 2006, p. 17). The DIR system can be applied to all diving environments; recreational, technical, cave, wreck; Etc. with little to no changes to any of the core attributes (Jablonski 2006, p. 17).
