The Italian Otobreda 76/62mm Compact a dual-purpose anti-surface and anti-aircraft naval cannon with a low weight and a high rate of fire. Since its introduction in the late 1960s the OTO-Melara Compact[1] has dominated the 57mm to 76mm medium caliber naval cannon market and has been fitted to hydrofoil missile boats as small 62 tons to large guided missile destroyers of 3500 to 4500 tons.[2]
