James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction is a six part documentary series with each episode focusing on a key element of the science fiction genre, with the element identified in the episode title. In addition to focusing on the key elements of the science fiction genre, the series also examines its origins and how it grew and developed into the box office and ratings success it is today. In 2018, three of the top five grossing films were science fiction.[1]

The host, James Cameron, has achieved both popular and critical success for his films, including Avatar, Titanic and The Terminator series. James Cameron also enlists the help of other notable Hollywood science fiction directors and actors who share their experiences, influences and predictions about the future of the genre and how is may develop. Cast members include the likes of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Keanu Reeves and Arnold Schwarzenegger.[2]
