The LPGA Championship is an annual golf competition held in mid-June. It was established in 1955 and one of the four women's major championships played each year which include the Kraft Nabisco, the U.S. Women's Open, and the Women's British Open, which it is the second major championship played each year.[1] This event has always been conducted in stroke play competition.[1]

Mickey Wright holds the record for the most victories with four, and Annika Sörenstam with three consecutive wins.[1] The lowest score for 72-holes on a par 71 golf course is Betsy King's 267 (-17) in 1992 and on a par 72 golf course is Patty Sheehan's 272 (-16) in 1984.[1]
