Tumsoy-Lam (mountain)

Tumsoy-Lam mountain[1][2][3][4][5][6] (Chechen: Тумсойн лам),[7] also known as Alpiyskoye (Russian: Альпийское),[8][9][10] is a mountain peak located in the Argun Gorge[11] on the border of the Shatoysky and Itum-Kalinsky districts of the Chechen Republic. It is situated in the eastern part of the Greater Caucasus, between the Martan and Argun rivers,[12] with the elevation of 2072 metres,[1][3] according to other sources - 2074 metres,[4][5] 1855 metres.[13] The mountain extends for 10 versts to the west-northwest.[14] Tumsoy-Lam (Tumsoy Mountain)[15] is the ancestral mountain of the Chechen Tumsoy Teip.[12]
