Throughout his ascent to prominence, Abdurakhmanov has been a target of several personal assaults, including assassination attempts, both in Russia and abroad. This led to him choosing to remain in Sweden in the autumn of 2019, and eventually to ask for political asylum there. Tumso has been granted Swedish asylum in October 2021. By that time, he became the most popular Chechen YouTuber.[3]
According to Sweden's state radio, Sveriges Radio, 9 December 2022 Munich security spokesman Loren Lafleur claims that Abdurakhmanov is still alive and that there is no reason to believe otherwise. Tumso will be in the German court to testify for his brother who was also the victim of attempted murder.
